At Chiriquí, the electrical grid runs through the community, so you decide how independent to be. Every home is hybrid, drawing on the grid and on its own solar system, and any home can go 100% off-grid whenever its owner wants.
Serious Storage, Quality Hardware
Each home comes with at least 32kW of battery storage, expandable as your needs grow. Systems use top-quality LuxPower inverters, batteries built for us with the highest-grade cells, and the latest Trina and Canadian Solar panels, all oversized to keep power flowing through several rainy days in a row.
A generator is not typically needed. If you would like one for peace of mind, a 5kW dual-fuel Generac runs roughly $2,000 to $3,000.
Water With a Backup Plan
Water comes from the municipality and is stored in 4,000-gallon onsite tanks, with the nearby river available as an emergency backup. Your HOA covers the water bill.
What Your Hoa Covers
Monthly HOA fees run $133 to $170 depending on homesite. They cover security, gardens, the chicken coop, pool maintenance, garbage removal, individual septic systems, water and common area maintenance.
